    Mix...

XO RD, XT FD, X9 Triggers, XTR hydros, XTR cassette, SRAM chain, XTR wheelset. When the SRAM stuff breaks or wears out, they will be replaced by DuraAce barcons (thumbies) and XTR stuff...

Bit of a mix here too...

Bontrager stamped Truvative GXP cranks (eventually XT), SRAM 970 casette, XT FD (760) and RD (750), LX shifters (soon to be XT or XTR), Hayes hydros. Had 520 pedals, but went to eggbeaters.

i'm running dual control levers but i've ridden the RF levers as well. I got used to DCL with the last generation and have gotten to love the action of them. they are just so incredibly intuitive.

Depends on which bike. All run an XTR rear derailleur with XT front. One uses XTR shifters, the others XT. Two have XT hydraulic brakes etc. etc.
    Get over it!

    questions...

these are poor questions, so if you want to answer them... thanks.

    1. XT duals vs. LX duals. Is the xt that much lighter than the lx's?
    2. XT hydro's vs. LX hydro's. Same question.

I have all of these XT parts from my old ride, and i bought a new ride with basically full LX. I would like to keep many of the LX stuff as possible since its new and pretty to look at, but if the XT will offer better shifting and be lighter, then i might just have to swap out a few things.

    Any answer would be great.

Regarding the DC, I don"t know how much difference there is.

The XT brakes should be a bit lighter since the caliper is one piece vs. 2 piece in the LX...

Also you could sell some of the LX stuff while it is still new and recover some of your money... if the XT parts are in good shape...

    Shimano

    XTR Dual Control
    new 970 front der
    960 rear der
    XTR cranks and Cassette
    Dura-Ace Chain
    969? pedals

I've tried SRAM, and I just like this stuff better, it always ends up back on the bike.....

Sram XO except for my rear cassette (XT) and front derailleur (XT).

I have switched from Shimano to Sram and it will take a miracle to get me back to Shimano.

06 Shimano XTR hydraulic callipers with Hope “floating” rotors
    06 Shimano Deore levers

    05 SRAM X9 shifters
06 SRAM XO medium cage rear derailleur
    06 SRAM PC89R chain
    06 Shimano Dura Ace cassette
    06 Shimano XT front derailleur

I am also running Shimano cables and hoses.

Please don’t think I’m bashing! I have just simply built up a groupset with what I think will work best for me. I am not overly biased either way, both Shimano and SRAM have components which I love and hate.

    Cheers, Dave.

My hardtail is full 952 XTR with the exception of the 760 XT cassette. The bike I'm currently building will be a mix of XTR XT and SRAM parts.

the only Shimano I use is an XTR front derailluer because SRAM hasn't quite nailed that one yet.

    007 Uses Only 07 XTR

007's Mother Ship is mostly decked in 07 XTR. It is a darn good flying ship. I love Sram chains so I used one of those. I wanted the new 180mm XTR rotors, but decided to try the Hope floating rotors since the Industry Nine wheelset only allows for 6-bolt and not centerlock. I guess if I was a Shimano purist I could have just used the 6-bolt XT rotors.
