    slx 665 cranks

is it just me, or are the chainrings really far from the frame? it looks like they are spaced to far from the frame, making the chainline out of whack. anyone have any problems with their chainline on these cranks?

Its not just you. Shimano has kept creeping the chainline over further and further because of the need for frame makers to have decent tire clearance on suspension bikes. Since they can't afford to make parts for both bikes that need clearance and those that don't, everyone suffers.

    screw you shimano!

ya, i suspected as much. that chain line looks real far away.

it's also designed to accommodate a 73 mm bottom bracket with an e-type derailleur. so i have to put in 5 mm of spacers and so i have less threads actually in the frame. yes, that too i don't like.

screw you shimano and your mass production!
