We the people ... Shimano hydraulics M-series?

From what series upper are Shimano hydraulics brakes? I have Shimano M-465 mechanical ones...

I'm not quite sure about what is the level of the first hydraulics one. So, if I buy Shimano XT kit, will the brake be hydraulic or mechanic? ]

How about the new Shimano XTR M-970, that got to be hydraulic right?

PS: By the way, what is the model?

Yours are Deore level mech brakes.

There a couple model hydraulics at Deore level, but the most recent one is the BR-M535
    LX is BR-M585
    XT is BR-M765
and new XTR (as you said) BR-M970 (though the hydro ones are probably 975, since V's are usually ending in 0 and hydros in 5, but we'll have to wait and see)

    I hope this helps.

The mechanicals in the shimano line-up end at Deore level, from Deore and up it's Hydro.

If you want better mechanicals - get Avid BB7's - by far the best.
