I-Spec mix and match?

I've looked at the shimano docs but haven't been able to figure it out.

I have a pair of XTR BL-M985 brakes. I want to use the i-spec SL M780 XT 10 speed shifters. Would I need the XT or XTR I-spec piece? Or will it not work at all? Thanks in advance!

You need to match the I-spec brackets to the shifters which should be the SL-78 I-spec brackets.


Do you already have the shifters? Your post is a touch confusing. If you have xt shifters then follow what I said above.

If you're buying shifters then the ispec version of the xt shifters will mount to the xtr brake levers no problem.
