    HB-M564 (old LX front hub)

I have some old Parallex LX front hub having nine 5mm (or 4.8 or 4.9, I can't tell exactly) standard bearings on each side. And they always came with nine balls, but they do fit 10 of them. How is the spacing so loose when the same hub on rear is packed tight? Is it a good idea to put one more in the front or is it not a good idea? Newer hubs always seem to have balls packed tight. So I wonder why so much spacing on this one. Any idea?

The HB-M564 LX Parallax should be ten 3/16" bearings per side on the front hub.

Hmm, maybe I just got bad ones. Luckily I have many of these balls from my old Shimano hubs that I collected through years. This wasn't the first LX hub that I found extra space in there. You are right, they are 3/16''. Thank you sir.

Came across this web site having old specs:

    Yup, ten balls per side.
