New question here. FC-M460-LK / FC-M443-S Square Taper Cranksets

    Hi,

I am interested in the above cranksets that I discovered on the Shimano Europe web site; minus the chainguard/chaincase for the 460.

However, for the M460 (http://cycle.shimano-eu.com/catalog/...=1168880519909) it does not specify what BB and spindle length to use. What spindle length would be required, with the M460 crankset, to give a more perfect chainline of 47.5/48mm. How critical are frame angles/dimensions when determining spindle length?

Is there a Silver version of the 460 which has HOLLOWTECH arms?

I am also looking at the FC-M443-S crankset (http://cycle.shimano-eu.com/catalog/...=1168874437737) but don't understand the difference in specification of the BBs recommended for this Crankset. What does the LL, in LL123, mean? Also, on that page they mention an axle (spindle) length of 117.5. What are they referring to because I don't see this spindle length on the online stores or other sites I've looked at? Should it be 118mm? What is the difference between an LP and a UN BB?

For both of these cranksets, does anyone know if you can get the outer rings in silver?

I believe it is for a Chainguard/Chaincase option but how does a BB with a K suffix differ?

    Thanks!

113mm is what you need. M460 and M470 cranksets are basically Deore level cranks with square taper BB's and less expensive steel chain rings to hold down the price on new bikes.

I would use a UN 73 in 118 if you can get one.
