BB-M950 Replacement Bearings?

I would appreciate any recommendations on where I can purchase shimano replacement bearings online. I have a BB-M950 circa 1999 that I need bearings for and can't seem to find anyplace that has them.

Thanks in advance for any leads.

The good news on these is that if properly adjusted and maintained, they last forever. I don't know that they ever sold replacement bearings. What do you really need? The needles and balls or the races or...? Did you lose them or are they toast? Most times when you wear one of these out to the point of pitting the races, it pits out the spindle as well and the whole thing is trashed. Overall, I think you're better off scanning eBay for a replacement bb than trying to fight with the bearings. An M952 will work as well in a pinch.

Get the cartridge unit. The BB with the needle and ball bearings was light, but really didn't hold up to off-road riding. Unless you like to overhaul your BB every month or so. I even suggest it to roadies to swap to the cartridge one. Thread in a new one, and forget about it.

Thanks...

Thanks for the feedback. The bike is my wife's...she's a road racer but doesn't spend much time on her mtn. bike and when she does it is gentle to say the least.

That said I don't want to spend the $ nor is there any need for an entirely new BB. I have the old bearings, they are in decent shape so I may reuse them...I have it pulled apart so I was going to replace them.

I'll go into my LBS to see if they can order the part. Ordering parts like this from an LBS tends to be painful from my experience which is why I was hoping to find an online source.

Thanks again for the information.

You must have either not installed it properly or didn't lubed it up about once a year.

Lunger: Seriously, forget the bearings, save yourself the hassle and buy a new bb:

If you absolutely need an M950, PM me. I probably have a few tucked away.
