9 speed rings on XTR M980 crank?

    Hey guys,
Can I run my 9 speed shimano XT chainrings on 2012 shimano XTR M980 triple crank arms?
I don't know why it wouldn't but I just want to make sure.
    Thanks!

No. XTR has a different bolt center diameter (BCD) than the 104/64mm BDC on XT. I think XTR is 120/80mm.

That odd BCD belongs to the xtr race double crank only. All other xtr trail versions (that includes the OP triple) have 64/104 bcd as most cranksets. The only issues that come to mind are different ring offsets (due to different thickness of both crank tabs and rings) or other little bits getting in the way...(shimano is good at making things incompatible)

    Good luck
