New question here. 2010 XTR with SRM?

    Hey All,

Did a search today for "shimano xtr 2010" and I found this link:

    http://freakride.blogspot.com/2009/08/xtr-2010.html

Looks like m970 chainrings on a special SRM spider with new (2010?) crank arms.

    Any info on this?

The actual shape of the crankarm is identical to SRM's FSA MTB cranks, just different graphics.

Haha, hilariously lame. People have way too much time on their hands...

    Thanks for solving that mystery.

They don't look at all alike to me. They just both have the SRM PowerMeter attached. Don't know what that is but it is different to that FSA. Look at the big chain ring on the FSA. It is flat and has large and small voids cut into it. Could be some other model. The guy probably has a sponsorship and has to keep up appearances.

    Ronnie.
The trouble with having an open mind is that people will insist on trying to put things in it.

Neither the XTR or FSA cranks arms match the original manufacturers' cranks, so I'd say they are both SRM cranks with FSA and XTR rings on them, and someone went to a lot of effort to make them look like XTR, likely to appease a sponsor.
