Don't see why this should be a problem. The Dura-Ace Di2 works fine on rain. The XTR would be no different. Other than the extremely high cost, I'd like to try it.
sure you and I don;t see that its a problem, but theres a great many people who are wanting Di2 to fail.
Shimano is very sensitive around the whole 2003 XTR caper and ahow that turned out. They thought they were onto something good with an integrated groupset and got hauled over the coals by every bike journo from Orange County to Switzerland.
They are being very cautious with the Di2 /3 XTR stuff.
In fact everytime Shimano innovates then there seems to be a smear campaign against them which is often hurtful.
