    03 XTR disc brakes

Does anyone have service experience(s) with the 03 XTRMultishifter/brakes??

Lately the front brake won't lock up the wheel. The lever is not bottoming out and is "stiff" as it should be in the PDF/manual. There are no leaks at the caliper or lever or lines. There is NO contamination of rotor or pads (scrubbed rotor with alcohol-new pads).
At first the inside piston wasn't working well (was a little "stuck" retracted)..but now it works smoothly and evenly with the other side's piston. It just won't lock up the wheel.

    Got It Right

Although there were no responses, i found lots of info on THIS site!!
Combined with Shimano's PDF for these brakes, and my LBS tech, the problems i was having are gone, and i'm now enlightened about maintaining 'em.
I know XTR isn't the most rugged stuff, but then again, it was never said by Shimano, or anyone else i know, that XTR is about being "bombproof".
I still appreciate the "watch-like" precision and low weight of XTR.
(However, my next build will be something else,
...just to keep things interesting and fresh )
