I plan on upgrading the Bars, Seatpost, and Stem next. Probably going to go all Carbon or Raceface Ride to match my Crankset. I've got something in the works though.
Please forgive my picture i'll get some better ones soon. I've had a case of the shaky hands lately when taking pics ( I should use my tripod ) and it's been pretty cloudy out so I don't have good lighting to work with.
Looking good bro, did you weigh it yet??
It was 28.8 with the old fork. No I haven't weighed it with this fork. I'll try to stick it on the bathroom scale later tonight or this week. It was quite fun to ride today while it was snowing.
Here's a few more pics.
Just added some Elixir R's...almost done
^^ Those look amazing! You're gonna have a pretty slick bike when your done!
25.4Lbs rode it Last weekend for the 1st time, felt snappy.
Like! Sharp looking!
I gotta ask again. Where did you get that RaceFace crank at I'm building a 29'er right now that thing would look awesome on. Also I scored some elixr 5's for my 29er for 99 I'm debating putting them on the sette or the 29'er SS.
Last spring (2012) after the first few rides I decided to go full rigid. I found a great deal on a Mosso fork on ebay and it was under 800gm with both canti and disc mounts. Here's an updated pic from last summer on our favorite local loop at Mount Agamenticus.
For 2013 I upgraded to Shimano XT spd pedals and I'll be converting it to 2x9 in the next month because I new rings, cassette and chain anyhow.

It rides great with a rigid fork. Your shoulders are sore the first couple of rides but after that you can hardly tell. In Maine there is a lot of rocks and roots so big tires are very helpful and I run 2.3" tires, and they soak up bumps well.
I have gotten a lot better at technical climbs since getting rid of the suspension fork and it rails corners in flow type single track.

I have pondered going rigid though. Esp on my 29'er SS.
I got one of these last year, so solid for the price.

Did you upgrade anything?
OURY grips are the bomb. I'm getting a set for my Reken next. I got a set on my 29'er.
I wish the Reken didn't have brake studs on it.I want to cut and grind/file them off, but I'm worried I might mess up.But I still might try...it would really look sharp without 'em...no doubt.
was thinking the same thing...

Mine came with them off, I bought the full bike and not just the frame.
Also anyone know if the rockshox dart 3 will support 650 b wheels?
I guess the safest way to do it is to hacksaw as much as you can then file the rest.I'm too nervous right now to use a grinder...but might try.I filed a couple of the cable guides down already so I could run full length housing through them...it takes quite a while.Maybe I used the wrong tooth file though.i'm gonna try to use a drill and bit on some...but the close tolerances os the stops make it hard to position the drill.I have a cheapo dremel tool, but not enough torque to cut the aluminum...it is pretty tough.
