Love looking at all of these builds. Very nice bikes. I should be getting a Reken frame later this week off Craigslist. Looking at putting Mavic Crossride wheels on it. You all have gotten me very inspired to say the least :D

I got the crank & stem from Bluesky, good prices. The only draw back to buying one piece at a time is the cost of shipping..looking forward to your pics

Seat was a price point purchase over a year ago..i use it on my current bike. They no longer carry that seat in white. Too bad cuz for the $$ cant beat it.

Well... I built a commuter bike with my old Reken frame. Before any of you guys call blasphemy, I will tell you that the Reken held up through some serious abuse. However, the frame has been hanging up in my garage since I built an all-mountain bike... so I figured I'd use it to cruise around town.

    It went from this...

I finally got to ride my bike today. I will post pics later. The geometry on these bikes really allow you to carve the trails! I was surprised on how much more responsive it was over my mid 90's GT Avalanche that I traded for this frame.

One suggestion I would like to give you... Mount your tire labels parallel to your Valve Stems. So if your valve stem is at 6 your tire white wall / label is at 12. It's kind of an unspoken industry standard but it really makes the bikes look good!

Other than that your bike makes me drool man!

How so? If I'm not mistaken, those are Purgatory's and have opposing labels on the opposite side of tire shown.

    Check yourself.

I wasn't aware of that. Like I said just a suggestion. I can't find a picture of both sides of that tire model to confirm or deny that though. Good looking tire though!

What's your point then? I've been aligning labels opposite of stem when possible for wheel balancing reasons.......

    Cool story bro!

And by parallel I did mean opposite of the stem. Why I said if your stem is at 6 put your whitewall labels at 12. Not trying to get in a pissin' match just giving suggestions.

Im not really worried about the position of the stem & the lettering, however I will take your advise when i'm forced to break the bead for one reason or another. Im a bit more concerned about snapping the frame with that pike up front :D
Ive also never had any exp with the Specialized tires..fond of Kenda. These came with the rims.

Cool. I'm running a Specialized (don't know the model) 26x 2.2 on the rear and Kenda on the front. The Specialized is good but it's older and it slips on climbs some. I need to upgrade the rear. Let me know how you like them.

I just switched the Front & Rear so we'll see how the skinnier tire does in the back.
