Here's some shots with the new handlebars; 28" long and tons of sweep. Love 'em!

Benji, get it finished yet? I LOVE the blue rims.

These builds look great guys! I am waiting to sell my current 19" Homegrown to buy a new Reken.

**UPDATE** Went ahead and ordered the Reken. Can't wait to get it built!!

    Built

Here is a completed pic of my new Reken. All that is left is to fine tune here and there.

I just ordered a Sette Reken frame. I am not 100% sure what I am going to do with it….I have a mountain bike with a Fox fork that I had built for my son a couple of years ago in size small. He has since outgrown it, so I might swap all the parts over to the Reken. The other option is to build an “adventure” touring bike. Maybe a rigid Surly Troll fork to run racks/fenders…fat touring/offroad tires….some sort of trekking bars? Pics coming soon….

Congrats M.Brock40 on your build! I noticed you have the newer frame with different decals. Is there anything else you can tell changed from the prior reken? I only notice the decals.

I'm thinking of getting one too.Trying to decide between it and a Motobecane 600HT. Current ride is a heavily modified Trek 4900, I'll be keeping almost all the components and switching mostly just the frames.

Here's mine. It was built with the intention of being strictly an urban bike. Here's a list of parts:

    20in Reken Frame
    Crappy Nashbar Fork
    WTB rims with XT hubs
    SLX drivetrain
    Niner bars
    Eaton XC-50 120mm stem
    BB5 brakes
    Time pedals
    Ergon grips
    Cheap Forte 1.25 slicks.

For it's intended purpose, it ****ing rocks! It's faster than hell, the geometry is great and I love the look. I figured the flat black paint would not be so attractive to the thieves that may be out there.

I hate the front fork. It's garbage and needs to be replaced with something else soon. My only other issue is that after I built it I wish I would have built a 29er. I'd like to put larger wheels on it. Maybe 650b wheels. Anyone know if they'll fit?

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.

Nokian Mount & Ground 1.9 x 26 from Finland. You can find them on the net and occasionally REI. Great all-around winter snow/ice tire for commuting.

    My Trusty Steed

This has been a work in progress for over a year starting with a K2 Attack and ending with this. It is finally complete with the latest addition of the Manitou Minute. Now I just have to graduate, get a big boy job and start working on a 29er.

The saddle is set a bit too high in the pictures...still adjusting things, but here is what I have so far:

    20" Sette Reken
    Fork - X-Fusion Enix
Wheelset - Sun Ringle dirty flee hubs with Black Flag rear rim and Equalizer front rim with tubes
    Conti Speed King 2.1 tires
    XT shifter and derailleur.
Deore front derailleur - used as a chain guide
    Hayes Stroker Trail brakes
Old Bontrager Race Lite Crank with Blackspire 36t single speed ring
Very old litespeed saddle from my old road bike
    Heavy FSA seatpost (carbon wrapped)
    Answer 90 mm stem
    Truvativ Holzfeller handle bar

    24 lbs 4 oz.

Not bad for a budget-hand-me-down-parts build. It has been fun seeing it slowly come together as parts came available. Now I just have to get used to the ride. I've been riding full suspension for several years, so it feels like I'm relearning to ride. All in good fun.

Running single speed with a 32X16 gear and a Surly Instigator fork. It looks similar to some of the other Rekens posted here. I have some old 26" Bontranger wheels on there now. I have a 650B front wheel on order and hope to have that in a few weeks.

I'm probably going to pick up this frame to build a spare bike. I'll install all the older components from my Trek Fuel as I upgrade. Most of the SLX parts that came with the bike.

My question is what would be a good air fork to go with? I would rather keep it around $200 unless it is really worth it.

For $200, I'd go with the RST First fork. The other main competitor for $200 would be the Spinner Aeris, but in the reviews section the RST fared better. Great frame though, I bought one, and it arrived a few days ago. Swapping my parts over to it now

You may also want to look at X Fusion. They're a little more expensive than that but seem to get great reviews.

Mine with the 650b wheels set up to commute. Still planning on getting rid of that fork eventually.

Edit: Uh... Maybe not. That's with a 29er front wheel. I'll get a better picture of it in a few days.
