XC SS Race on a Rigid?

Anyone race the XC SS race on a rigid last season? How was it? Would you have been faster with a suspension fork?

I raced SS (beginner) last year and there were a lot of guys out there on rigids. I'm thinking of racing it rigid this year too....

    its really no big deal.
I haven't had any suspension on a bike for about 5 years now...

I usually run a fork on my SS. I took it off and I am borrowing a steel rigid. almost 1.5 pound weight savings.. makes the bike feel a little light/nimble compared and you will not miss the cush. the loop is 60-70% fire road. the downhills are quick... last year I locked out "for the start" and never touched it... just sayin..

my 2 cents worth about 2 cents.
