    U10 class

Any parents out there let their kids race the U10 class? My daughter wants to do it this year. She's 9 years old and can ride 8 miles at UCSC no problem. I see last year's course was 12 miles.

#1. How would you rate the course (do you remember the route?)
#2. I'm a bit apprehensive letting her take off on her own w/o me by her side. How did you guys deal w/ this?

Any other tips or advice would be appreciated.

My daughter is 8 and will be doing the course. I am trying to find a copy of last years map so I can bring her out to get a feel for it.

if you find it, would you please send me a link? I have had no luck. If I do find one, I'll pass it on to you... Thx!

I will forward it later today, I have the turn by turn layout and if you go to the Monterey Co. Parks site it has a better map to match up to. As of right now it will be the same course as last season (12 miles). I am going to take her in a couple weeks just to see how she does. I do the race for fun and I think my division starts about 20 minutes before hers. I may just go up a ways and wait for her and kinda give her support. We both ride for Team Duke and think it would be fun to ride in at the same time. The hardest part for her I think will be the long climb out up Skyline Rd.
