    Soc/nvdc

Just got done with the NVDC. Has anybody done the SOC and the NVDC? If so how do the races compare. The NVDC has a little over 8200' of elevation change and a two mile BRUTAL climb at mile 16. Finished the 20 miles in two hours.

Ryan, I did both last year. NVDC prepared me for Sea Otter. They're both the same length but NVDC is about 4000ft of climbing (not 8200, man!) and Sea Otter is only 3000.

Sea Otter is much easier. It'll seem easy compared to NVDC and you should not have to walk any hills. There's one short, steep clmb that last perhaps 20 seconds but aside from that its mostly gradual. If its windy, the gradual climb out for the final couple miles will be difficult and perhaps very cold.

NoBalance thx man for the info. Yeah, i meant 8000' of TOTAL change, meaning up and down. That would be one hell of a race with 8000' of climbing "sign me up".
