    mtb beginner.Dual slalom race question

I have never raced a mountain bike and just started riding a santa cruz Jackal my first mtb.
so the dual slalom race looks fun and not to crazy(as I race BMX in the old guy class).
would this be a good endevor for my first Race and is the beginner class reall beginner or will I look like a damn fool?

the whole event looks like a blast and coming to race is the only way i could justify the trip.

If you can ride Prunedale or Santa Clara PAL tracks you should do pretty good on the dual slalom course. It will be a lot rougher than the bmx track but the same type of skills apply.

There will be some definite beginners in the class and then there will a few beginners who should be in the sport class.

Last year me and 2 friends did it. It was fun. You can go slow and take it easy. Just don't watch the pros for a 1/2 hour and try to clear the same jump.

We all raced in the beginner over 40 group. The cool part is having your name anounced over a loud speaker.
