What is that Threaded Hole On the side of the SeatTube on the 2012 Scott Scale Pro?

There is a threaded 5mm hole located on the right side of the seat tube down low, with a rubber plug that pushes into the hole to seal it, I was wondering what it's purpose is. It Looks like a Chain Catcher or something could bolt on there...Does Scott offer a trick chain catcher to go there? It is located too low to be for a direct mount front derailer...

There are three sizes of discs that came with my RC that thread in there to stop the chain from dropping of on a 2x10 drivetrain. My buddies Pro didn't come with them so I gave him one. They are size specific for the number of teeth your inner ring has.
