    Spark 29 broken chainstay Issue

There seems to be an issue with broken chainstays on the Spark 29 with the rear aluminum swing arm on the drive side.

I have seen reports of 3 on this forum, plus mine and a guy with a Spark 920 that rides in the my area.

Does anyone know of any other problems with this?

It looks like 2 2013s and 3 2012s,all in the same location.

Please let me know if anyone else has had the same problem.

These incidents are very low, just because you see a couple of reports on here doesn't mean much. After talking to the Warranty manager, they've had claims but less than what you can count on your hands and toes. Don't sweat it, I've seen 2 break and its because the riders are very rough and not smooth.

I'm 200lbs all geared up and not have any problems with my 2013 930. I ride XC and do not do crazy stupid drops or anything.

Im 170lbs and race my 2012 Spark Pro, I have about 400 miles on it and no chain stay problems, however I bent my front wheel beyond use last weekend.

I believe your bike has the carbon rear triangle, it's only the aluminum ones that I have seen break. Time to upgrade your wheels I guess!
