I just purchased a spark thinking i could switch my kcnc post from my giant.

for the life of me i can not find an instock 30.9 - 34.9 shim.

Does anyone know where i could get one?

found this one , but not sure if the store is still in business.

also looked at fairwheel, evanscycle, wickedcycles, plus all the big american shops (jenson/cambria etc)

Just be aware that Scott advises against the shim and it will void your warranty if you have one. I asked the scott rep why and he told me a shim puts too much pressure on the top/seat tube area and causes it to crack! That being said, I would check Wiggle.uk etc...

    Spark uses a 31.8 seatpost, neither 30.9 nor 34.9

Give Gravity Dropper a call. I just got a 31.6 - 30.9mm shim from them, and that's also rather uncommon.

Not sure if Im following you correctly, you have a 30.9mm seatpost and you ordered a shim to fit it inside a 31.6mm seat tube?

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Since they have that, I figured there's a chance they will also have a shim to put your 30.9 seatpost in a 34.9 frame.

Okay, I'm fairly new at this... will my 31.6 seat tube fit a 30.9 seatpost without a shim?

    Edit...

Sorry. I read your post wrong. This is what I get for posting at 2 AM... The seatpost will fit in the seat tube, but the seatpost probably won't clamp in place. You need some kind of shim to secure the seatpost. It's a really thin shim though. I've heard of some people just using cut up soda or beer cans.
