    Scott Spark 650b?

    Anyone know if Scott have plans for a 650b version of the Spark? This would be my ultimate XC rig.

    A 2013 Spark model with 26" wheels called "650" is what you may be thinking of - its not a 650b Spark.

    Yeah I was hoping for an announcement at the Sea Otter but no luck. I know they announced the Scott Scale 650b but that's it.

    The only thing that strikes me as odd are the proportions, specifically, the chainstay length. It almost looks like they took a Spark 900 and put 650b wheels / tires on it, especially when looking at the chainstays and overall wheelbase.

    That said, I really want one with XTR Trail, and Fox CTD fork & shock.

    Scott Spark 650b?

    If they just mod'ed a 900 the BB height would be too low right?

    Probably so, but given how benign most World Cup / Pro XC courses have become, were they to do that, it might not make much difference.

    Still, the proportions look off to my eye. We'll see what ends up going to production.

    Found this with some Googling. It's Scott's marketing portal. You can find the same by Googling "Scott Spark 700", it's the PDF link between the MTBR and Flow's First Bite results. Or you can follow these steps below.

    SCOTT's marketing webgate

    Follow the following path on the link tree on the left and look for the following file: Biketags_2014_All_NEW

    03 Marketing -> Sales support -> Product Information / Tags / Graphics -> Bike -> Information Tags / Labeling -> Sales Meeting2013

    Bottom right picture, should see some text titled Spark 700 SL in the image. Link will open to a page where you can download a PDF.

    The first 9 pages are for Spark 7xx bikes, all 27.5ers. Lists the core specs. Looks like 3 full carbon, 3 carbon front/alloy rear triangle and 3 alloy complete bikes.

    I have no way of confirming the validity of this file outside of it being directly hosted on Scott's domain.

    I can confirm all of this information. Starting tuesday is Scott week for all the dealers, they'll have some of them available for test riding. Already confirmed the fox stuff, etc etc.

    Cycling Dirt has a photo album of Chloe Woodruffs new Spark 700.

    Since everybody is talking about the new Genius with 27.5" wheels, I assume the new Spark will be unveiled later this week.
