New 2009 Scale RC frame is finally all built up. All the parts minus the saddle and front mech came from my old Rocky Mountain. Can't wait to try it out, come on spring!

Just got my bike 2 days ago and took it for the maiden ride yesterday. My first 29er and it pedals so much easier compared to my Freeride rigs that I normally ride. Awesome bike and I love it so far! Here are a couple of pics I shot of it during the ride. 25.33lbs without pedals.

I still love it. I am in the process of building up some new custom wheels for it. Otherwise, for the money spent on the bike I think it its one of the nicest I have purchased. Go test ride one and let us know if you like it.

Speaking of which, I'm dropping off my RC this afternoon to get some new shoes fitted. I'm keeping the stock DT hubs, mostly because I like the oversized rear "tubular" quick release, and the aesthetics of the color matching. I'm having them laced up to some white Stan's Crests, that along with some lighter spokes should drop 1/2 lb or so from the wheelset/bike.

Got my wheels on today. Knocked off 3/4's of a pound. Leaving in a few to go on a night ride and test them out.

Race last weekend. Due to the threat of mud, I stuck with the stock wheels.

Race on April 17 at Pace Bend. This weekend is race at Mellow Johnny's (aka Juan Pelota Ranch, aka Lance's place).
And the bike up close with its new Crest rims. Bike now weighs 20.8 lbs, size large.

And how did that work out for you? Oh wait, let me guess - it is due to using the stock wheels.

It is a XL frame - good eye, I'm 6' 3" and have a 36 inseam. My friend who is 6' got a Scott Scale Premium in a L frame (complete bike). The bike fits perfect and rides fast! I just bought the frame, not the complete bike. Not sure if there are any left?

The 2012 Scale 29 Elite. It has a lot of small changes from the '11. I freakin love this thing. And with my I9 ultralites, carbon post and xt 780 pedals it weighs in at 24.2 lbs in a large.

21 lbs for my XL with ESI grips, XTR pedals, Thomson 120mm stem, I9 Ultralights and Ikons. It was about the same weight out of the box without pedals.

    Matching Scales

We just picked up 2 29ers to add to our collection. We swapped out the seats, seat post, bars and stems, pedals and cranks. These bikes weigh in at 26 even. We love our 29ers...

mind me asking what you swapped out for? mine weighs in at 26.49 after a wheelset (c29ssmax) and a 1x9 conversion (eliminating shifter, front der., and big and small ring, and only adding a chain guide. i'm guessing i have some good room for improvement. also, what "trim" level are yours, more specifically, Air fork or coil?

    *EDIT*
didn't have my glasses on, now i see it's a recon fork. weight makes sense now. i'm hoping with an air fork and a change of cockpit to be around 23 lbs
