    Scott Scale 29 Team 2012

    How do you like it?

I'm in the market of a 29er and there's a chance is a Scott Scale 29, my budget is limited so Comp or Team are the ones I'd afford.

Is there any changes besides the paint from 2011 to 2012?

Haven't found the 2012 pricelist either

    Thnx

Hated my suntour fork and had defective tektro brakes on my 2011 comp. Get the Team for sure and if you can get a deal on a 2011, go for it instead of the 2012. I think the fork is essentially the same on the 2011 and 2012, its just renamed. 2012 may also be 30 speed vs 27.

I have the Comp (their entry level 29r) and I like it. I ride almost everyday, weigh 210 pounds and no problems so far. No issues with brakes or fork. I did put a new seat on it as the stock one did not fit me. The Team version does have upgraded components, especially the fork.

I'm sure my brakes were a fluke, but at 200lb the fork had some serious flex/ vibrations during braking.

    Thnx for the input

Already spoke to a store and they are out of 2011 models.

However I like the white scheme on the 2012, its price is $1199

A LBS offers me a Rockhopper 29 Comp and absolutely love the bike but I haven't ride the Scott yet, in paper the Scott is way better because of the fork and components.

Might get the 2012 Team soon

I just test rode a 2011 Elite and 2012 Comp at my lbs. (they didn't have a Team). Frame is slightly changed for 2012. There is a reinforced web-like bridge between the seat stays right at the seat tube, and the chainstays right at the drop outs were redone. Both these changes looks like an improvement to make them beefier. I wonder if this is just pro-active measures or a response to failures in these areas?

The 2012 Comp is not on the website so this was the first time seeing it and it's pretty bad a$$ looking. It's been given the murdered out treatment with matte black paint and ghost lettering.

I was considering the 2011 Elite (on sale) vs. 2012 Team, but because of the frame improvements(?) I'm leaning towards a 2012. I really like the looks of the 2012 Comp frame so I may go with that and make upgrades.
