Scott 2014: Rumors, speculation, hopes, expectations, etc.? Post here!

So we know there's at least two new Scale 700s already announced. Anyone else hear or expect anything for '14?

Is the Spark due for an update / refresh / overhaul?

    Spark 700s?

On the road side, CR1 or Foil update / refresh / overhaul?

Here's the place to put your thoughts.

CR1 and Foil don't get updates, however Scott will reintroduce the Scott Addict again.

Why would the Spark get an update/overhaul. It only has 2 model years.

Spark 700 is a possibility, my channels have neither confirmed nor denied.

Thanks...I couldn't recall how old the current iteration of the Spark was, or the Foil and CR1, for that matter.

Most brands follow a 3-year model cycle, but in this economy, it seems like MFRs are stretching that out longer than in years past...not just in cycling, but in numerous other consumer product lines.

Perhaps too much inventory that they committed to, that hasn't moved, so they eke it out for another season or so.

I see 2 mountain bikes getting upgraded.

I think their will be a Spark 700 and a new 700 genius LT.

I guess their is a new Scott Addict coming out.

I hope Scott ditch the Nude2 on the Spark and Genius for 2014......but I doubt that will happen. I have not read a single good review about this rear shock - everything read says how it lags behind Fox and RS in all areas. This shock is what puts me off getting a Spark Mk2 and a Genius Mk3.

I am 90% sure the foil is being discontinued, all foil models and the ultegra CR1 are on closeout from Scott.

Goodbye to the Nude shock in 2014, a new Genius LT and a lot of other great stuff is on it's way.

If they do get rid of the Nude they could jus swap it for a fox CTD shock. They get of the geo change though.

Why not get your scott dealer to upgrade you. It happens all the time when the customer doesn't like some other part of the spec. ( wheels , cranks , sram to shimano etc.) Your dealer wants your money so will probably be very willing to help out. Just go and ask.

Just because they're on closeout doesn't mean they're being discontinued. The road industry is slow right now, Trek, Specialized etc etc are doing big sales to push inventory. Scott has a lot of road inventory thus the closeout sale. This has been happening for many years, considering next month they'll be releasing info for 2014 and expecting shipments in August.

Its a done deal. Fox is going to provide the rear shox on the Spark and Genius also. Wonder if they will sell a option.

New Spark 700s also. These look like sweet bikes. Stiffer than the 900s.

I saw this. Genius and Spark 900 series basically staying the same except for the updated shock. Mostly Fox and Shimano they the specifications.

Hello and welcome. You can edit posts so you don't need to add a new one to correct.
The Scott dealer week is this week in Utah, so any dealer who went (my shop manager from Santa Fe is there now) should be able to tell you most any info you need to know by this coming Monday.
I am looking at a 2014 Genius 900 series bike or frame too. It is between that and the new 2014 Cannondale Trigger. Both should be great bikes.

These pics were taken by my boys at LeRoy's BikeWorks. Good friends of mine. My boss was there earlier this week.
