Picked up a 2011 Scott Spark yesterday.

So I finally bit the bullet and picked up my first full suspension bike yesterday... a Scott Spark 50 from last year. Ended up paying 1500 which seemed like a pretty darn good price point.

I got to finally take it for a spin on some local Vermont single track today and man... coming from an eight year old Trek 4300 this feels like a big step up. Very comfortable ride, climbs like a champ, and I loved the Twinloc lockout. As these were some of the more technical trails I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. I even got my first trip over the handlebars outta the way!

But also, as my first fs bike, I'm not sure if there's anything I should know about maintenance, preload, etc. that I'm currently unaware of. Do you all have any tips for unexpected stuff that a new bike owner should know?

Getting the suspension dialed in takes time but is worth it! Try sectioning the same spot a bunch of times and changing your settings around until you feel it hitting the sweet spot!

    I definitely will!

Turns out my bike is actually a 2010 though, not a 2011... d'oh! Still love it, though.

Just picked up one myself today (2012). Can't wait to take her to the trail tomorrow for its maiden voyage.

I have a Scott Spark 60. 2009 I think. It was definately a step up from the 2006 Diamondback Sorento that I had before! LOL!

HingeT, make sure you post it on the Scott Spark (under manufacturer) page so all Spark lovers can drool in unison.

I don't think I can post pics yet as I am new here. I'll post a picture when I can though.
I have a video up on YouTube shot FROM the bike titled "Black Fly Challenge 2012 XC Mountain Bike Race POV".
