    New question here. 2x9 conversion genius 20

    i have a genius 20 2009 stock
    deore xt cranks

    Changing to a 2x9 setup vs my 3x9 current

    any suggestions what, how, what to use, not to use, tips..?

    Are you looking to keep the same parts such as crank shifter?

    I just went 1x9 on a scale, kept everything, adding inner bash guard. I think 3x9 is redundant. What chain rings and cassette teeth? Look at it in terms of how and where you ride, your strength. Note gear ratios. I'll run from 1.06 to 3.09 with my setup, 34T to 11-32, which is fine for Louisiana. If not I'd choose to swap to a 11-34 cassette.
