Love the Voltage and Gambler paint schemes. I wish the colors for the AM and XC bikes were a bit more exciting.

So there's no 27.5 Scale carbon HT and no disc cross bike?

I really like the graphic design in this catalog, but what's up with all the typos? Glossing over the gambler introduction I read that there are 2 models, and I clearly see 3. Not trying to nit pick but even in the 2012 catalog, I came across lots of inconsistencies within bike descriptions of the identical frames. Can I get a job proof-reading the literature?

I came on here to find out what the heck a Spark 930 was. Well then, problem solved. It's a 2013. They put fox forks on EVERYTHING. I'm a little scared to see the prices...

The new Scott bikes are up in the reviews section.

    $3779.99 MSRP
Scott Genius 930 29er Full Suspension Reviews

The Genius 650B bikes range from $9134.99 to $3149.99. Doesn't look like there's one for my budget, but I didn't really expect there to be one.

    I don't see 2013 spark pricing anywhere

    Neither do I.

Mental lapse from me in linking to the Genius 930. Sorry 'bout that.

The Genius 930 and Spark 930 are spec'd pretty similarly so it is a good reference point. I get the impression it would fall somewhere in between the 2012 Spark 29 Expert and Pro pricing - maybe $3700.

I'm impressed with the 1X11 SRAM on those top end models... not that I'd consider them. But I'm not very impressed with some of the colors/graphics. I don't like the glossy carbon frames. The 2012 Spark 29 Pro was the best looking bike I've seen. It's too bad the matte black/yellow Spark 920 doesn't come in 2x10.

Between the good looks of the 2013 Epic Carbon Comp and (much more importantly) the superior suspension, it will be a hard call - that or the Spark 930. The 930 will probably be at least 20% cheaper than the Epic.

It's not Black and yellow, its Black and Green.

As for Epic being a superior suspension, thats debatable. I personally don't like the specialized bikes, some of our team riders have them and let me use it from time to time to compare bikes. I especially HATE the brain.

    Overall both bikes are amazing.

I took a close look and yea, green. That would probably look really nice in person. But no 2X10 is a deal breaker. As lame and trend oriented as that sounds.

What were your observations with the brain that made you dislike it? I ask because I really don't have much time on either bike. I demo'd an Epic this summer - first full suspension I've ridden in years. I thought "ah, this is nice. I'll save a grand and buy a Scott" but when I rode the Scott (2012 Spark 29 Expert) I got major cold feet on the deal. It felt like it bobbed around like an old Trek Y-frame... at least compared to the Epic.

When I rode the Epic, I thought it was locked out or something until I was mauling rocks at 20+ mph down a hill and not crashing. Thinking back, I'm wondering "oh no is the extra grand justified???"

When i demo'd a 2012 spark 29er i DID accidently leave it locked out 20mph down a rocky slope and it still felt awesome. Tires, tire pressures, susp pressures are all factors of course
Scott Genius 910 tricked out as much as I could without getting a divorce

Spark 29ers are already on the way, I was told mine will be arriving end of august.

    The Genius are expecting September/October.

Seems like Scott is missing the boat not riding Ninos coat tails with a 27.5" Scale.
