    '14 Spark 27.5 vs 29

Anyone have experience on both yet? I'm going to demo a 720 this weekend and hope to do so on the 900 series.

Spark 27.5 feedback seems minimal, which seems a bit surprising. Maybe just haven't hit many floors yet.

Curious where you are that you can demo one?

2014's still aren't in Canada yet

    Of a group I ride/race with, there are 4 Spark 900 SL's on order (2xsmall, 2xmedium)

I have a Spark 700 premium medium on order. No word on when they are coming in.

Even a goggle search doesn't show too many reviews, so I don't think there are lots floating around out there.

I thought there was some marketing fluff floating around from Scott shortly after the '14s were announced that implied that if you were above a certain height---which escapes me at present---you should lean toward the 900 series...below, the 700 series. FWIW, YMMV, etc.

Some told me the two were described this way.

    Spark 700 - 70% trail, 30% race
    Spark 900 - 30% trail, 70% race.

They talked about that in a video when Scott Swiss power team was testing both sizes you can find it on YouTube.

The Fed Ex guy just droped off my 2014 Spark 900 premium. I took it out for a quick spin on trails. The bike is AWESOME!!! light, fast, fun and it makes you want to push hard on the flats, climbs and down hill.

    '14 Spark 27.5 vs 29

    Hi mates
In Spain a magazine this week is testing the spark 700 rc. The review is pretty good and as always they say, the bike is a mix between a 26 and 29 it has features from both bikes.
    Personally , I demoed a genius 720 and I prefer my spark 930. I think, 650b bike is more a 26 than a 29 bike
The magazine has a link on internet www.solobici.es if you want to see it
By the way,in my shop, they already have a couple of 730 for demoing
    Bye

The bike is a rocket. I only have two rides on it so far. I came off of Niner Air 9 carbon and the Scott is faster. I have a trail I ride all the time and I rode both of these bikes on the same loop with same condtions. At first I thought I just felt fast because of the new bike feeling. A guy I ride with said that I was riding faster and that when I rode the Niner he said it was more stop and go. With the Scott it was a good pace the whole way. This is my 1st Scott so I cant say anything about the Fox vs DtSwiss but the fox is very smooth. When I get the bike dialed in and more miles I'll give a detailed report. By the way the bike corners awesome, flies down hill and up hill and on flats. The bike responed better the faster and harder you ride it. I hope that helps for now.

The Spark 27.5 looks like an interesting and really fun bike. It seems like it's similar to the Santa Cruz 5010 which is also a lot of fun. I wish I could demo one!
