You guys still liking your Nickels? Post pictures!

So, all the Nickels out there in MTB land are at least three years old now. How are you guys getting along with them. Do you have any new tips to share about them?

Since they have been discontinued....doubt any new info is going to be discovered.

    Post your Butchers & Nickels!
I crashed hard enough on my Tallboy to break my leg,
The carbon is way more durable than most people.

here's mine: After forever of looking, just a few months ago found a barely used frame in top condition, set at 27.5, with Float 36 lowered to 140mm, full XT components, with a dropper seat post. Awesome awesome bike...

If you are in Victoria BC there is a Nickel at Oak Bay Bikes that could probably be had for a deal.
    Safe riding,

I'm thinking about going 1x10. 30 x 11-42 with wolf ring and 42T cog and probably XT cassette and clutch deraileur.

I went 1x9 11-36 on my nickel with a WolfTooth 30t and a Zee RD. Its been great, I love it. No chain slap, no front derailleur, I hated that thing. You could go with the race face ring also, there cheaper. The float RL shock on mine was starting to feel crappy, I just did the air sleeve service on it tonight, hope that helps. I'm also considering sending the fork to push to try to get some extra squish. I love the bike still overall though.

Loving my Nickel! Have it 1x9 with a 57mm shock (not shown in photo). Only change I would like is to one day bring it to 1x10 with a narrow-wide chainring and a clutch rear D. Favorite MTB yet, and a great replacement from my Heckler I rode a few years ago.

I'm not sure of I can live with the lack of gearing range if I go 1x10. If I could go with a 10x42 cassette, I'd do it. I would use a 30T up front for climbing power. But today I was riding and spinning 32x11 on the flats. So, going down to a 30T on the front wouldn't work. And, I don't think I'm strong enough to push 32Tx42 up the steep hills around here.
