When did SC p!ss off MBA?

I was recently looking though some bike mags at Barnes & Noble (that is a book store for those not old enough to remember the concept of books sold in stores) and found the Mountain Bike Action buyers guide contains zero mention of Santa Cruz Bikes.

What did SC ever do to MBA? I'm not interested in editorial comments on the quality and audience of MBA but why a major bike mag would totally ignore a major bike company.

I haven't picked up a MBA in ages, but aren't buyers guides usually paid advertising? If they aren't there, I'd guess it's because SCB chose not to pay for it.

There is a 2 page ad for the Stigmata in the latest issue I think...But the OP is right. I haven't seen a review or test of any SC bike in the past year in MBA.

Mountain Bike Magazine? or Mountain Bike Action (MBA)? You mention both in your post.

Think it goes way back to a review on the Blur XC Carbon and MBA going on about pedaling feedback and SC never supplying a test bike since....

Although SC have adverstised in MBA over the years since.

How come your copy of OP's post says "Mountain Bike Magazine", but the actual post says "Mountain Bike Action"?
    Weird.

Yup. I saw that what I originally wrote could be read two ways so I edited.

Yeah why didn't the Bible of Bikes include the Nomad this year? Seems pretty comparable to SB6c, HD3, and Mach 6.

RC was a big SC fan, maybe there was a falling out.
I saw the issue you are talking about- must be 3 Ellsworth's, one of them being the "dare"---geez

Yeah, but, just conjecture on my part. Maybe SC had a falling out with High-torque for thier right wing ideology...
One thing is for sure, buy ads in MBA and they will promote your bike.

I suspect if the monthly Garage Files article weren't helpful or interesting to the non-mechanic, there'd be more cancellations, me included.

    +1

A rift with MBA is actually a positive for a manufacturer's credibility IMHO.

Nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
