What Fox tune does a Nickel need.

I can get a new fox RP23 200x57mm that has a medium tune. Would a medium tune be right for a Nickel?

You would be best served to ask Santa Cruz. There are 3 things to be tuned based on your bike, weight and riding conditions:

    velocity tune
    rebound tune
    boost valve pressure (if equipped)

Fox will also know the right velocity and rebound, at least.

There's a fourth tuning parameter: the volume spacer. As mentioned, call/email SC and they'll give you the specifics. As an example, here's the OE tune for a Float CTD on the Nomad:

    Velocity: L
    Rebound: L
    Boost: 175 PSI
    Volume spacer: 0.6

Thanks! Someone might be able to use that. I ended going with a RS Monarch RT3 with a 57mm stroke. It's night and day better the the Fox shock.

You can read more about it here: 200 x 57mm shock on a Nickel = 142mm of travel!

I am surprised you didn't go for the white air can.
I have been contemplating the change to a Monarch from an RP23 on my BLT2...not sure if I'd see as big a difference, as I have read that the RP2 is a dog (the only option on the remaining closeouts).

I tried to get a white one, and Suspension Experts didn't have one and RS didn't have any left. I thought I would look for a used one that is blown and have the parts switched when mine needs to be serviced. That would finish it off perfectly.
