Tallboy rear skewer problems...???

I have been having some issues with my tallboy rear skewer. Unless it is really really tight...like to where I can hardly close it...my wheel will be too loose and have play in it. It has to be so tight that I need a tool to pry it open.

Any ideas...???

Oh yeah...it is a carbon frame and has a traditional skewer and not a thru axel

What kind of hub do you have? I have had this happen on Shimano xt hubs. The cone and cup bearings were loose.
