Tallboy alloy direct mount fd question?

Helping a friend with a build. He is getting a tb2 and wants to replace the big ring on the crankset with a bash running 32/24 up front.

Wondering about the range of adjustability when it comes to lowering the front mech.

Will we be able to drop it down to the height neccessary to "lock out" the big ring position now occupied by the bash? With a standard front mech, if we were to take 42t ring and replace it with a 32t bash, we would just slide the clamp down the seat tube, how does that work with a direct mount???

Tallboy alloy direct mount fd question?

Why not just tighten the high limit screw all the way?

It would, but i didnt want it to look goofy with the fd hovering way above the 32t bashring.
