SuperLight and 1x drivetrain
Yeah, yeah I know it's all over the search function.
Other than the new fancy schmancy XX1/XO1 (insert oooogling here), just want to know what's been working for you guys in 9 spd. Anyone been still keeping it old school 9spd (no clutch thangy) and got one of the Wolf Tooth type front rings to work with a top mount chain guide? Which I do have available. Main question is what is available to use for an XC type lower retention guide setup. This is on a 26" frame model. I have a Bionicon C-Guide on a different bike now but can't see that working for this setup given the elevated stay.
I have a 36t cassette that I've been using but can only run down to a 32t front ring on the E13 SS cranks. Like to be able to drop down to see a little lower Granny on some occasions to keep it fun on the long haul epic rides.
Thanks in advance.

For the past 2 years on my Superlight, I've been running a 9sp med. cage XTR, P20 Gamut chainguide, bash and 32th ring and a xtr cassette w/ 36th add on mtbtools sells on ebay. Never a problem and have a good chainline due to the 68mm BB.

Seeing as how some people are getting around on singlespeed MTBs, 1x9 isn't unreasonable.

Yeah, I have a couple of those too.
I've had several ht's set up 1x9 with regular ss ring and only a top guide(Paul/e13 xcx) with minimal chain drop (usually a stupid back pedal at the wrong time....), just not a fs without a lower. I guess the least expensive way to go on this would be a new high/low tooth front ring.

What crankset are you running with the 68mm?
