    SC Blur LT shopping advice (3 yr old nice components versus new w/ entry level specs)

    I want to upgrade my 8 yo SC Superlight with a new/used bike with more travel.

    I've been watching / bidding eBay for a few weeks (and getting sniped) on Yetis (575 or ASR5) and SC Blur LT.

    It's the age old question of if I should buy a gently used 2010 LT2 / 2010 LTc with better components or new with worse components and warrenty.

    I'm not sold on Carbon in general re: longterm durability, but the bike (below) sure looks pretty...

    Any insight / opinions would be helpful.

    thats a tough one. i cant tell you what to do, but the new bikes do come with a 5 year warranty on the frame which you wont get with the used ones..... just something to consider. of course that BLTc sure is a purdy lookin bike too and looks basically brand new.

    That's a tough choice... personally I think the question here is whether or not you want a carbon frame. If you do, get the used 2010 LTc. If you don't, I'd go with the new R-AM kit from Cambria; it's definitely worth the $250 over the used 2010 for the warranty and new parts alone.

    I went from a NomadC to a Blur LT2 about four months ago, and I'm super happy. For some reason when I was riding my Nomad, I was always worried about the frame. With my LT, I don't think twice about it.
