Cool thanks for the heads up - is the lower link offset? Had stacks of issues getting a bb mounted dual guide on a 2010 alloy to work well

Just ordered a Tallboy Al today! I was riding with a friend who just purchased a complete Tallboy Al and I was talking about the Titus Rockstar being available for $1100 or so. He told me about the $900 Tallboys w/ free shipping. I couldn't pass it up.

Pretty much all my current parts will move over except the seat post and headset.

Just one question....do the frames ship with a seat collar?

pwrtrainer, could you post a quick photo of your frame on the ISCG side? Couple other things I'm curious about. Thanks!

Anyone else get an ALU BLT with the ISCG tabs?

Clamping the frame with rubber grips isn't going to harm it one bit.

Nice looking frame, I dig the color.

Mine showed up on Tuesday, sadly I was out of town until last night. I found it interesting that my Tallboy box doesn't have Santa Cruz anywhere on it! I was expecting a box with label and logos like swcreates has in his photos, but mine is plain brown. Not an issue, just surprised.

Looking forward to building this up! Its going to be a winter project, and piecing components together is going to take a little time, so I don't expect to have it built until later this winter.

Mine showed up today but I won't be home for another week. Ugh! I have a Fox 32 Float 150 and a KS LEV on their way as well. Hopefully everything will be there when I get home and it'll just be a matter of exchanging everything else from my old bike. It's going to be a loooong week.

CROZ, think you mentioned earlier you got the BLT C, right?

I'm pretty sure its just the 2.2 A frames that have the tabs.

BLTc and Chameleon. Chameleon is still in the box. Was supposed to be a dirt jumper / light trail bike, but then I figured out I already have those, it will just be a third wheel

it's US and Canada only. I assume they check the billing address on your credit card as well as the ship-to address. however there is probably a way to conduct a proxy transaction if you have a friend in the US. (don't PM me! )

That's because there is no difference in rolling diameter between a 650b 2.0" tire and a 2.35/2.4 26". Heck... the same width tires have all of 5% more diameter.

I could say more, but it's just ammo for the anonymous neg reppers...

EDIT: this comment now makes no sense with 2 prior comments being removed. I don't know why they were removed, but whatevs...

Anyone know if the inventory listed on the sale page is accurate? I placed an order last night, but have heard rumors that they cancel orders after the fact if something isn't in stock. I haven't received anything other than the initial order confirmation and my order shows as pending when I log into my account.

I just want to make sure I am getting the frame before I start ordering other stuff.

    Hi Karl,

Here’s what happened: You order should have been canceled because it did not meet the terms of our sale, BUT it went through.

Even though you were shipping to LA, your bill to address is overseas. This sale requires orders to originate in the US or Canada. It seems that your bike order slipped through our system and long story short – your order went through and your frame was shipped which is why you were charged. You are absolutely the only person who was able to order this way and since your frame has already shipped we will honor your order.

    Thanks and happy holidays!

Not too sure about that as I used a UK credit card but got shipped in the US with no probs.

Also is it not possible to be living in the US temporarily and be using your foreign credit card???

i guess you're right there cblair246, but initially I received an e mail saying my order was CANCELLED because it did not meet the terms of the sale which is the billing address and shipping address should be the same... anyway if someone want's to buy items they want to sell fast (get rid) why not? ,money is money... they just want to protect their local distributors, but then again it should be open anyway, the more accessible the items are, more people can enjoy the product and in return they make more... WIN-WIN... i think it's pointless though to limit the Virtual Garage Sale in the US and Canada IMHO...

It isn't pointless. Most likely, Santa Cruz has official distribution channels outside of the US that forbid direct sales from SC or possible online sales entirely. (Competitive Cyclist can't sell SC except to US and Canada, also.)

Santa Cruz has some more mediums in stock for those average sized people looking for a V10.

    @saddle pimp

You can even get around the address issue by having the forwarding service pay on your behalf. For me it worked without this, though.

It's a Thomson Elite X4, 90mm. This is the 3rd bike I've had that stem on.

Just a heads up to everyone. I ordered my AL Blur LT2.2 on December 19th and my order is still pending. I tried to give SC a call, but found out that they are closed until Jan 2nd! There is a message that says ordering on or after Dec 20 could be delayed for holidays, but jeeze.

I need to get a job for SC. Two weeks off for holiday vacation sounds awesome!

Point of this post: If you're ordering anything, it will be at least Wednesday, Jan 2nd before your order could even be looked at.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale! Finally got everything put together. The front wheel is a loaner that I'm really starting to enjoy looking at on the bike.

Post up pics of your build once it's done. I was divided between the Harbor Gray and the Seabright blue frame, and I decided to go with the blue... but I'm curious to see how the gray looks on a new build.

Gonzo... that's awesome. Maybe that's what I'll call the bike.

The company that makes the seat is Selle SMP.
I checked out reviews online for a while searching for a seat that would be less numbing than my past saddles. Then one day commuting to work I talked to a guy riding with this same model saddle. He also happened to be about the same height as me. The first-hand bike user review sold me on it.

Besides draining the wallet, the saddle helps to take pressure off all sorts of things your shorts hide. For more technical info I looked up this link if your interested.

    SMP4BIKE: DESIGNED ON YOUR BODY

Gonzo was on my road bike until I popped a front tire going down Tuna canyon this past Wednesday. The saddle has a light scrap on the right side of it now. Perfect for my mountain bike. Now Gonzo is very happy seeing dirt and asphalt.

those things work great for some people but I have tried several of the models and the center valley has really hard, sharp edges. I don't care for them at all, but I do like two similar saddles (which don't have the issue I mentioned): Fizik Antares Versus and Specialized Romin Evo.

the romin is a bit hard for MTB use but I have one on my road bike.

It's should be good to go. I just got my Blur LTC too last week and had the same checklist from Competitive Cyclist. I already built it up and didn't have to chase or face anything.

If those are the torque specs they used, it is WAY under spec.

    Check your Hecklers peeps:

I always thought mine was a little laterally flexy. (more so than I had anticipated) Today, mine was so wobbly that it made a knocking noise. I took the pivot axle out of it and saw that the threads that the pivot axle screw into are totally stripped. I've only ridden it a handful of times and built it late november. It's been gingerly cared for and only XC ridden.

I sent SC warranty an email. Hope they get me fixed up soon. This bike was on my dream list b/c of the reputation of it's great durability and reliability. Now...5 rides later...I was left stranded at the trail head.

My initial build with this bike was with RF Atlas crankset. The swingarm was so flexy that the swingarm came in contact with the crank arm when I pedaled hard. I had to switch over to my Shimano Hone crankset b/c it's slightly more laterall offset to the drive side due to the lack of preload ring like on the RF's. That right there should have set off a red flag for me, but I didn't listen to instinct...I just thought maybe all of the good reviews were from lightweight riders and not a Clyde like myself.

Fingers crossed for a quick turn around.

Sorry, I missed this but yes . . . . even for NM. The specs for the linkage axels is hand snug (like a headset), the linkage bolts are 100 in/lbs (11.5 NM) for the upper bolt on the upper pivot (the 4mm bolt) and 110 in/lbs 12.5 NM) for all the others. The shock bolts are 190 in/lbs, though I only go to 185 (21 NM).

Not much about 7-10 kgs from memory but the cubic weight for air freight a lot more as its basically a big empty box

Yeah, just ordered 2012 V10 carbon frame M-size, nice deal. Can anyone tell how big is the packet size for this. Im waiting it to arrive my friends house and then flying back to Spain. Airline company said that on a return flight, no excess baggage is allowed... I guess i can bring it with me if its not too big & heavy box

Did you consider removing the swing arm and putting it in a suitcase? It will probably fit in a big one.

What do you want to know? This is not a thread for people to sell their bikes . . . there is a classified section for that.
