just going to ask you the same question.
I wonder what size your frame is and what length you have on your stem?
And how tall are you? If you can use cm i would be happy..
Im thinking of buying one but is between the size M and L.
Im 176cm tall and is going to use it for xc riding, singeltrack only.

I'm 178cm tall, Large frame with a 90mm x 10 degree Thomson X4 stem. Main reason I went 90mm on stem was I wanted the rise. (and I had it laying around) Since the 650b fork is only 100mm travel I wanted the bars higher. I ride this mainly xc/light trails, also since it's a SS.

Cool-blue Rhythm my new/old sc chameleon

Medium 3.0 lime green frame with 100mm fork. Seat tube is 16in and the top tube is about 21.5 to 22in. It came with a straight post (needs a set back), 60mm x 5deg stem (I like), low-rise bars (thinking high-rise can get me more lift). I also want lighter, but strong wheels. I am 5'-9" tall and could fit on a 17in frame but I can get this little lady to pop a wheelie real good. Also, thinking of putting on a pair of 165 cranks that a friend just kicked down.

Anyone looking at getting one of the 2015 models? I am in the market for a new bike.

I was wondering if these bikes make good trail bikes? Seems all i see people doing is jumping/pump tracking them.

The 2015 650b frames look good

They make a great trail bike and my frame was built up with that intention. I find mine just as capable as my full suspension trail bike and maybe even a bit faster in certain situations. Go for it I say

    Here's my not-so-serious XC racebike.

Some updates since the last year. General Lee 40t cassette adaptor and Mallet DH clipless pedals. I really like the allround Maxxis Ardent 2.25" tires

I love the smell of the TF2 chain lube in the morning.

I have a 2011 frame setup for XC / All-Mountain duty. It's a great climber and goes down most single track and trails without much issue. If you are riding mostly smooth trail, it is really fast. The only time I would rather have my full suspension is when the trail is choppy, rocky, and with lots of roots. I threw a drop post on it to make it easier to do steep drops and trail jumps.

I would say it's a great trail bike. They're built with 120 to 140 forks, 26 in wheels and a 27 speed drive. And notice the rather stout frame with a tapered head tube, ISCG tabs and replaceable dropouts. Not to mention a nice mix of semi-slack geometry.

I plan on getting one if and when they offer different colors or raw so I can do a custom paint without breaking the bank.

    An afternoon project of 650b

Bought the Chameleon 5 for less than a year ago, and was quite unhappy that the new Chameleon 6 is finally 650b. But looking at the chainstay, I can see that the Chameleon 5 is very likely to fit 650bs with a 1X setup as the FD might be too close to the tires. So spent an afternoon to confirm.

The fork is a RockShox Revelation 27.5 with 140mm travel, which gives me the exact same A to C height as a Revelation 26 in 150mm travel, which I have been using. Therefore all the geometry change shall be due to the wheels only.

The wheelset is the new ENVE M70 with Maxxis Minions 2.3 on them. You can see that there is still more than 10mm left at the closest point, so any decent XC / trail tires with rims less than 25mm internal width should give you even more clearence!

That looks brilliant. Good to know you can get away with the bigger wheels. Would the front mech have come into contact with the tyres?

I think it depends on the frame size vs. fork length. SC is now labeling their old medium frame size as small (16 in seat tube), the medium now with a 17 in seat tube. I would guess the tube-set is as burly as ever ... they got ISCG 05 tabs. I really want one cause I totally dig the new dropout ... plus no more creaky eccentric BB. They also look super badass to me when running chain guides, 1 x 9 or just single speed.
