    It's a ver2, could be anything from an 04-08 model IIRC. Although looking at the build I'd be inclined to say it's on the earlier side of that spectrum. Those are some really old cranks, forks, brakes, and derailleurs. I wouldnt pay more than $500 for that as it sits and would probably try to talk it down a good bit.

    ^^^ what he said.

    I'm pretty sure they started making the EBB model in 2009, my first EBB frame was a 2009 anyway so it's definitely pre 09

    My Ride and It's History

    Here's my ride. I haven't checked all 45 pages of this thread, but it may be one of the oldest Lizards on the board. I picked it up in 1999 at 17 years old. I got it though Santa Cruz's Race bro A program, what was basically a grass roots racing deal. It's a Lg frame that I built with a Bomber Z2 fork, full XT drivetrain, avid single digit 2.0 brakes, Titec stem / seatpost / sadle, and Bontrager wheels. I had built it up as an XC race bike.

    In 2001 I broke my rear derailleur, so I replaced it with an XTR.

    In 2006 it got stolen from my garage. The police found it but a number of parts had been stripped off and replaced. The bike came back with a double crown QR20 Bomber downhill fork and a Hayes 9 Hydraulic front disk brake. The saddle and seatpost were stripped off, and I had a nice new Canadian Tire comfort saddle LOL. I traded the front fork to a friend of mine for a Fox Vanilla 125r and bought a Black Spire seat post, and kept the front brake. I'm now trying to find replacement rear drop-out with the disk brake mount that was originally available from Santa Cruz. It'll give me some more wheel options as I plan to rebuild this bike using the existing frame, and possible start racing it again.

    Here's a picture of how it looks now.

    I don't know EXACTLY what years rootbeer was available, but it's at least an 04-05. I've owned one, and I got it in early 05.

    I still think that rootbeer is one of the best colors ever!

    Was wondering if someone could tell me if you could build 1 of these with 27.5 wheels and if so what fork do you think would be best--140?never mind after more reflection it would make the stand over too much for me to fit a large frame set up this way

    Question for those with the C4 that has the ebb and have already rode a season on the ebb. I'm thinking of building around this frame and wanted to know how the ebb is holding out, has the ebb shown to perform as needed/expected?

    Also, is the bb-shell without ebb installed 83mm, if so, could it fit a 83mm bb of some type?

    I've been riding it since 4/2012. It squeaks a lot, but it has performed just fine. I probably should service it more than I do.

    I doubt it is 83mm w/o the EBB. I would be surprised if it worked.

    When do you think they will introduce a 27.5 Chameleon? How long has the lifetime of one revision been in the past?

    pdxmark->

    If the ebb of Chameleon mk4 creaks, dissassemle it and recrease it and it is fine again. ...thought I haven't had any problems with it so far after 1 season of riding.

    83mm bb won't work with or without ebb.

    I think I've done that 3 or 4 times. It still creaks consistently. Not a big deal, doesn't matter much
