Earthpig - Nice whip. Grip shift, eh? : )

LoneReaction - all depends on your wrenching skills and comfort level. ebb is simple and easy to re-grease. remove cranks and follow the link below. proper torque is important so if you don't have a torque wrench, you might consider the shop.

The Pig Parts Bin in the garage had one left twist shifter and on right (rear) trigger. So, it's a half and half. I do like the ability to micro-adjust the front derailleur.

And, after one ride I replaced the saddle with something a bit more substantial (and cushier) and replaced the front tire with a Schwalbe Big Betty 2.4 that was also in the parts pen.

After two rides I also came to the conclusion that this thing is dying for a dropper post. I've never used one, and never felt like I needed one. But, for some reason, with the saddle at the right pedaling height (33" inseam), it was way too high for the downhill. I felt "on top of" the bike instead of "in" the bike (if that makes any sense.) Could be that I've only been riding 29'ers this winter, or it could be the high BB height. Kind Shock post is on order and on the way....

    Work in progress

    IMAG0183

Done! Well almost need some grips. I ended up going with the sektor utrn coil vs the fox air. I would rather give up the small amount of weight for a little more burly and adjustable fork, didnt want to spring for the 36's.

Too bad I missed it. It was even worth to part out and still come out on top.

Wow, such an amazing deal. Wish I could have seen that

I think it depends on what want to you do with it. I'm 6' even (or 182 cm in your far away metric system using land) and "sized up" to an XL for more XC duty rather than jumps/drops/urban, etc... If this is going to be a trail bike, I'd go with an L; if you're looking for more of that jump/drop/urban type ride, go with the M.

Looks like the winner is parting it out.

    http://shop.ebay.com/aukai7/m.html

So far he's sold off $600 in parts (fork, shifters, brakes) so he got a good wheelset and frame for around $400, not including everything else that didn't sell yet like the crank and small stuff like derailleurs and cockpit.

I'm still kicking myself for missing it that day.

    Hi all,
has anyone a persistent creaking botton bracket? one of my trail partners has one, he loves his chameleon, but he says creaking is driving he mad.

Are any trick to solve this issue, he followed this manual, but creaks come back soon.

Why canŽt SC make adapters as Niner does? http://www.ninerbikes.com/downloads/NIN_CYAchart.pdf

My friend is thinking about ordering a custom adapter at a metal workshop, but iŽm afraid he ends up breaking his frame.

    Thanks for reading.

I think he needs to determine whether or not it is the bottom bracket or the eccentric. If he took the eccentric out and everything looks good, he might need to replace the bottom bracket?

Got myself a chameleon frame recently, built it up with some parts from an old bike and set it up 1x9 (32t front and 11 -34 rear).
Fork is a rock shox revelation 140mm.

I recently bought a frame and just finished getting all the parts I needed and building it up. I plan on running it SS and 1x9. I have a 9 speed rear wheel already and just need a shifter.

So far I really like the frame! I weighed it at about 21 lbs (definitely another reason to keep it SS).

It's hard to say, there aren't a lot of them. I'd watch ebay because they come up every now and then, although shipping might be expensive for you.

Wow - looks nice! I am just about to convert my SS to a 2 x 1 so I can haul tools to do trail work. Makes me kinda sad. The SS setup is so clean, simple, and quiet!
