I've just put the DHX coil on my Nomad. I ordered it with the coil originally but had to wait a week for it so the shop lent me a Float R to get me going.

So it's only 1 weeks experience ith a Float R, not a DHX Air, and one solid 3 hour ride with the DHX coil to compare on the same trails.

The coil is much plusher than the Float R. I found the Nomad to climb better with the coil. It descends better too. It's obviously heavier but i didn;t notice the extra weight while riding.

I had both set up with 16mm of sag measured along the shock's stroke. Porpedal on the DHX coil i've left wide open for everything so far with no problems or bobbing while climbing or on flat tracks. Bottom out resistance i've got set so i can still seetwo of the 3 indicator lines. Rebound is 3 clicks out from fully open, 4 clicks on the Float R.

I'm not a big fan of air shocks to start with so i'm a bit biased, but i reckon the Nomad rides heaps better with a coil shock. A bit more time on different trails should only let me enjoy this set up even more.
