    New 2002 Chameleon Owner

I am trying to get a hold of the list of disc brakes that will work with the 2002 Chameleon frame and Santa Cruz is at Interbike right now so they won't be available until the end of the month or so. I was hoping to get some Avid BB7 disc's back there but it doesn't seem like I can. What would you recommend for the rear brake on those bikes.

    BB7 will work, but

I would not recomend them, go with a hydraulic brake it will save yourself some grief. In my experience the long run of cable to the brake makes for poor braking over time, full length housing helps. Just my take, but I switched after about year.

Just out of curiosity what hydraulic brakes are did you run on your chameleon? Was there any fitment issues or cable routing issues?

I stuck with avid, and went with juicy 5s, no more of a cable routing issue then with cable brakes, just less work in the long run and more consistent braking.
