LV or SV Fox Rear Shock for Tallboy LTc

I am planning on upgrading my rear shock from the standard Evolution to kashima coated "Perfomance" shock with boost valve. Which do I need to order, the LV or SV shock? I think this stands for Large Volume and Standard Volume, but I am not even certain of that. I am 175 lbs without gear and ride a large frame.

Never mind. I got an email back from Santa Cruz. I need the LV sleeve.

Not to be an ass, but you are wasting your time. Almost any other shock will be better.

Suggestions on similar weight shock with similar platform? Climbing is important to me. I thought the Fox CTD Kashima was decent when I demo'd one.

Pau11y likes his monarch plus. I demoed a CCDBA-CS, and it blew my mind. I currently have a pushed float CTD Factory. It's not bad, but the CCDBACS was like getting a new bike. The climb switch feature is also amazing and has no counterpart on other shocks. The weight penalty is worth it. Just get rid of your front derailleur.

That's because I can open it up and custom tune the shim stacking

I just need to figure out a way to hook up a bleed syringe to the oil fill port so I can pull negative pressure and suck out all the bubbles ala Sram's brake bleed method, vs their hokey nylon bleed ball dealio.

I think I can get a brake syringe into the IFP bleed port tho. Get the eyelet end figured out and I can push/pull the fluid thru the shock

CCDBA is more than $200 over Fox CTD and weighs more so obviously not apples to apples. I'm sure it's a great shock, but I'm not ready to drop the additional coin on it at this point.

Totally hear that. I just don't think moving to the Kashima version if you already have a Fox Float is worth the money either.

So would you just recommend sending his existing shock to Push (or equivalent)?

Your best bet there is to contact Push directly. They'll shot straight with you about what they can do with that shock and the best bang for your buck. The Push treatment was huge in getting my float to work the way I wanted it to.
