I want to run a fork with a tapered steerer... it doesn't look like any of the headsets (or lowers) will work with that, will they?

OK, thanks guys. I guess I can use the Cane Creek 10 version of those parts too?

I'm set on all the other parts, but damn, the headset and BB always get me.

I just purchased an AL BLT2.2 from the SC sale. Is anyone running this frame with a Fox 36?

If I'm doing the math correctly, a 36 Float has a 545 axle to crown length. If I were to space it down to 140mm, that should give me an atc of 525mm. SC lists the frame geo spec'd to a atc of 529mm which is pretty darn close. Anyone else running this setup?

If so, can you post pictures?

    Thank you!

Just keep it as 160mm, works well. I did lower it first to 140 mm, but then noticed that it is waste of good travel Also you gain with slacker head angle and higher BB. If I would have newer frame, I would put 150 mm 36 float and 1,5 deg headset which would be optimal.

    I am

I have had mine @ 160 150 and 140. 150 was best by far. My pics are in this thread somewhere.

Ok, good to know, will lower it also to 150 when next maintenance. Probably handling is better with lower BB. Fox 34 / 160mm would be also good choice for LT2 since its A-C is 7(?)mm lower than 36s at 160mm.

2012 LTc, Float 36 RLC set at 150 mm, E-13 XCX ST en route.

Will likely throw in an offset bushing for giggles.

Pretty standard; but for 2013, I had my old transmission replaced with full JDM spec type-R components along with some new stopping power via Codes.

Great video! That is a killer trail...and the bike isn't bad either. What are your thoughts on the Blur so far?

Thanks Brewing, I am biased towards SC frames especially the Blur. I purchased the bike used in the Spring of 2010. Since then, it has gone through many changes. In it's current setup, it is by far the most dialed it's ever been; IMO, the best AM/FR/XC bike out there. I DH the sheeeeit out of mine too!

    cheers

Been meaning to post this for a while. Here is my wife’s AM/do-it-all ripper.
We bought the frame from SC’s closeout sale and built the bike up on Christmas Eve. She has already tracked almost 100 miles on it. She absolutely loves it. Her previous bike was a GT I drive 4. This bike has given her so much more confidence on the downs and even helps her go faster on the ups. During our Moab trip last fall, she was able to rent a Blur LT for two days. From that point she knew it was going to have to be her next bike.

    Lets see those LT2s-img_1499.jpg

Pretty much a budget build. We were able to get everything on sale. We were able to save money by using an old fork I had in the parts bin. Its temporary. She wants to use this bike as an “all-rounder.” We’re still deciding what fork to put on it. Since she is doing so well with the 160, she’s thinking about just wanting to keep it at that length. She prefers the comfort on the downs over the pedal-ability on the ups. All-in-all the bike weighs in at 31 lbs. (were hoping to get it in the 29 lbs. range once we upgrade the fork)

    Lets see those LT2s-img_1526.jpg

    Frame: Blur LT 2.2 Small
    Rear shock: Evolution CTD
Fork: Marzocchi All Mountain 4 160mm (temporary)
    Headset: Cane Creek 10 Series
    Handlebar: Truvativ Stylo T30 700mm
    Stem: Truvativ Hussefelt 40mm
    Grips: ODI Ruffian
    Brakes: Shimano XT
Rotors: Hayes 180 front, 160 rear
    Shifters: Sram X9
    Front Der: Sram X9
Rear Der: Sram X9 med cage 9 speed
    Cranks: Sram X7
    Bottom Bracket: Sram GPX
    Cassette: Sram 970 11-34
    Chain: Sram 971
    Bash Guard: Truvativ Rock guard
    Chain Tensioner: Blackspire Stinger
Wheelset: Sun Ringle Black Flag Comp 20mm TA front 10mm QR rear
    Tires: Continental Mountain King 2.4
    Saddle: WTB Speed She Pro
    Seatpost: Truvativ Stylo

Wrapping up my first build. Working on mounting XT rear caliper and the washers on the Shimano SM-MA90 are preventing the bolts from passing through the counterbores on the rear brake mount tabs. Before I dremel the washers off, any experience with this issue? Did my LBS recommend the wrong adapter?

Here's a preview of the build...

    Lets see those LT2s-photo.jpg

UPDATE: Picked up some socket head cap screws from the depot with proper head diameter. Worked well.

I've seen a few Blur's here with Arch's, can they handle the punishment the Blur can take? My Blur comes this week!

Very nice! How do you like the wheels? I came very close to buying a built Flow EX wheelset.

Just finished building up the bike, it hasn't seen any dirt yet. But according to the guy in the shop where I had the wheels built, the Arch EX can take a fair amount of abuse. We'll find out soon

Good to hear on the Arch EX's. The next question would be how they would handle a 2.5 Minion or 2.4 Rubber Queen/X-King, being a bit narrower than the Flow EX.
