    A kick in the gut

I placed an order for an XL Bronson-C frame only, no shock, in late August. I paid the local shop in full at the time of order and was given a delivery date of mid-October.

I had a size L aluminum Bronson that I really enjoyed. At 6'2" with long legs and a 76-inch wingspan, the L was slightly too small, so I took the opportunity to order my first carbon bike. In the interim, I sold the alu frame, leaving me with a SS 29er and my DH bike.

I have never ordered a frame before, though I've owned roughly 35 or so high-end bikes. I'm relatively impatient. And I got a fantastic deal on the frame from my local shop.

Got an e-mail this morning from Santa Cruz stating my frame was in and would be shipping today or Monday latest.

    HOORRAAAYYYY!!!

And then the followup e-mail. Wait, that frame isn't yours and your frame isn't on the ground. It will be at least two more weeks for arrival plus shipping from CA to AZ.

    Super-bummed.

I guess it's not the end of the world, but I am missing out on some superb riding here in AZ.

Honestly, if some of the other contenders were available today (Mach 6, Troy, the upcoming Knolly), I'd cancel my order and go with something else.

    Sorry for the whine-fest.

In better news, I suspect some of you guys waiting will be getting frames very soon.

I'm glad I never had to wait for mine. I live in Australia and I got mine end of July. You will be super pumped when it arrives.

Never sell the old bike until you have the new bike. Too much missed riding that way. I hop you get back on the trails soon.

BTW - my buddy is waiting on 2 Hecklers that were supposed to be here a week ago.
    Safe riding,

It's not like you have no bike to ride, or the season is winding down. Relax, go ride one of your high-end bikes in some prime weather and think about how insignificant your problem really is.

That is way-way too long to be waiting, without a bike

yes since may, but dont worry they have other bikes. excessively long delivery dates are nothing new in the bike industry.

35 bikes and this is your first from the frame up build?

You've been doing it wrong for so long.

The fact that you've owned "roughly 35 high end bikes" and feel the need to complain about a two-week shipping delay on your 36th says all we need to know.

    Sweet blog.

Just bummed by the wait, dude. Not sure why that prompted you to act like a d!ck, but that's ok.
