Info for "old" SL, Hecklers & Bullits

I emailed SC this week and asked about factory support for old frames. I specifically asked about SLs, but i would imagine Hecklers and Bullits fall into the same category.

    The email is as follows:

    Hi there,
For those of us that have old Superlights, how long do anticipate that you
will support the frames? ie the overhaul kits with ball bearings and other
hardware to "renew" my beloved SL?

    Keep up the excellent work,
    John in Denver
    Future Nomad owner

    Response:

    Hi John,

We should have a good supply of small parts for many years. Frame pieces
will diminish sooner since manufacturing has ceased.

Hope this helps and thanks for choosing Santa Cruz!

I was wondering the same little time ago....I bought a Heckler frame last June and I want it to be with me for some years so I suppose it would be a good idea to get some "extra" dropouts, pivots and so on....thanks for the heads up!

I suppose he is referring to dropouts, pivots...etc....as "old" frames are discontinued, there is no sense in making hardware for them..(they want us to buy the new models!!) ball bearing are easy to provide as they are supposed to be standard ones and any hardware store can provide them to SC

    Pieces parts.......

    Hey guys,
I was concerned about the overhaul kits thay have with the bearings and pivots and all that. That stuff will be around for a while since it is cheaper to make and store. Plus alot smaller to keep around. I would imagine there are more requests for pivots and bearings then rear swing arms. But when they run out of stuff I bet the "youngest" classic SL, Heck and Bullit will be 4-5 years old. JUST A GUESS!
