I'm looking to buy a Heckler and i'd like to see some pictures of them to decide on the colour and spec...

It's a 1x9 SRAM X9 setup. I just ordered the frame from SC, the bikes dont have a kashima option. I replaced the stock Float RL Evo with a new RP23. The bike handles flawlessy and sits at 28.5 pounds. Im super happy with it. Ill post more pics and a spec list here this weekend.

The air shock is awesome! Feels way more plush and seems to feel like there is more travel even though it's the same stroke length.
The coil shock was a first generation dhx5.0 (2004?) and the RP23 is 2011 so there's probably quite a bit of difference in technology.
There was also about 500gm difference in weight which was nice!

Love the polished.

Very nice build man; Z1's, M875 brakes, Haven carbon bars... Only the best, couldn't have done better myself.

I used to swear by the single pivot design, thought it was the best. Over the years I've owned a 2003 Heckler, 2004 Bullit, and a 2006 Foes FXR 2:1. All single pivot, all great bikes, I wouldn't swap those great times, all those years on single pivot for anything, loved every minute.

However, I recently built-up an old VP-Free, using many of the same parts as on your Heckler. I know the VP-Free is a different beast to the Heckler, but I have to tell you, the VPP suspension design sh!ts all over single pivot, so much smoother and plusher. VPP really bites down when climbing too, you can feel it digging in, not that the Heckler or FXR were bad bikes for climbing, they weren't (Bullit was a pig). If you've never tried a VPP bike, I suggest you give it a go.

Good luck!

Just built up a Heckler frame from the SC parking lot sale.

Specs if interested, more or less in order as you go down the bike:

ODI Rogue grips
Magura Louise brakes, Magura drilled 180mm rotors front/rear
SRAM X9 grip shifters
Deity 710mm x 50mm riser handlebar
Truvativ 40mm x 0 degree rise stem
Cane Creek 40 series headset
Fox Float 150mm with 15QR
WTB Frequency i23 rims with Continental Trail King 2.2 Black Chili
Hope Pro II hubs, rear has 10mm Transition TA
Titec Nemesis Expert saddle
Titec Duke seatpost
Salsa liplock
Fox Float CTD
SRAM X9 FD (top pull/low clamp)
Shimano LX crankset
Blackspire Stinger chainguide
Deity Compound platform pedals
SRAM X7 RD

I had pretty much everything from my previous bike (Kona Dawg) except for the front derailleur (had to go from high clamp to low clamp) and the Float fork.

Comes out to 29 to 29.5 lbs on my unofficial scale.

The santa cruz website seems really messed up at the moment so I wonder if someone here can tell me about the 2013 frame. I think I heard it has tabs for a chain guide now. I was wondering if the rearend is 142 or 135? Also I was wondering what the geometry would be like on a large with a 160mm fork?

My last Heckler was a 97 but I am just getting back into biking and I always liked single pivots. I built up a blur 4x but it really isn't doing it for me.

Thanks

2010 Heckler

Just picked this up a few days ago off Craigslist. Been expanding my riding into more all mountain and I am really excited to get out and ride this bike. I think it will be good for the Seattle/Pacific Northwest trails I ride. After doing some reading I decided to go with a large- I'm 5'10". I will probably swap out the current 90mm stem for a 50mm.

2010 Heckler
Fox Talas 100-120-140
Fox RP23
XT cranks
X9 shifters and rear, 2x9 with bash guard
XT front
IS dropper post with WTB seat
Easton EA70 bars with ODI Ruffians
Kenda Nevegal 2.35 front and rear
Thomson 90mm stem- soon to be swapped out
Forte convert pedals
Hayes nine brakes

Comments/thoughts!? Thanks!!
