    Heckler Front Mech

I need a front mech for my 2004 Heckler.

I quite fancied going for the SRAM X-Generation Front Mech to match the rest of the SRAM system I have.

But, I've read that the SRAM X-Generation front mech is too bulky for mounting on the Heckler, in that there is insufficient clearance between the seat tube and the swing arm.

    Can anyone confirm this?

If I can't go with the SRAM unit what front mech would you recommend?

    Thaks in advance...

The sram will not work. The clamp is up too high. After trashing an xt and an xtr I threw on a deore and it worked just as well as the higher end fr ders. That said, none of them worked well in my opinion and I ended up climbing everything in my middle ring anyway. So, I dropped the front derailleur all together. If dudes on singlespeeds can climb like banshees with one gear, you can do it with nine.
I am immune to your disdain.

Actually, given that my other bike is a SS, that was my first thought...sod the front mech, replace the outer ring with a bash ring and hey presto
    Thanks for the reply.
