    Components Help

I just bought a used 07 Blur 4x frame to build up for my recently retired Dad. He wants to get into biking at 69.

I have most of the components from when I upgraded my Heckler, but there are a few I need some help with.

Could someone please help with the follow

    front derailleur?

    rear derailleur hanger?

    headset?

Other than that I either have the parts or know what I need. I appreciate the help.

    Headset is 1 1/8" traditional

Front derailluer is bottom swing/dual pull...get a 34.9(it'll have shims if it is smaller)

Check the Santa Cruz web store for derailleur hanger/dropout. 1st Generation Blurs were all the same.
I crashed hard enough on my Tallboy to break my leg,
The carbon is way more durable than most people.

depends on how many rings youre running on the front and the size of the cassette. If youre running a 1X or 2X on the front, you prolly want a medium cage. definitely not a short cage (basically reserved for downhill bikes when running a road cassette and 1X).

if youre running 3 rings in front, you almost certainly need a long cage.

so what is the setup? you mentioned a front derailleur earlier, so i assume youll be putting 2X or 3X on the front.

I'm planning on a 2X up front. Don't think the old man needs more than that.
