Blur tires for Moab
I currently has Pythons on my Blur. I'm going to Moab and want some bigger/more aggresive tires for the trip.
1) What is the biggest the rear can handle
2) What would work the best for Moab

WTB's Rock...
bigdrunk,
I've run WTB MutanoRaptor Race 2.24's front/rear before and had some great performance out of that tire setup. The 2.24 clears the rear stays but the MutanoRaptors will pickup up small rocks and ding your stays on occasion. No big deal... My frame has suffered some minor scratches, but nothing that I think would cause degradation to frame strength/performance.
I took my Blur out to Sedona, AZ over President's Day weekend and the MutanoRaptors survived the rugged AZ terrain without any failures. I'm sure it would be a perfect tire setup for most of Moab's trail conditions. The closely seated center knobs would roll smoothly over Moab slickrock while the aggressive outer lugs would hookup real nicely in all that nice red dirt. Hope this helps...

don't matter
you want your oldest, most chewed up tires, because a few days at Moab, will reduce fresh big knobbies to mere relics of their former selves ... costing you plenty O rubber ... and money ... on the rocks any tire will grip .. totally ... take your oldest tires and finish them off in Moab ... that's the proper and humane thing to do to your wallet ..... NEVER put fresh good rubber on for Moab, do the OPPOSITE
